![]() The grade 5 and 6 classes were called upon to help solve a crime ... the disappearance of Mr. Willis's Jeep. Using a set of investigative tools carefully prepared by Mr. Phelps, the students observed the crime scene, collected clues, analyzed evidence, and eventually succeeded in confronting a suspect.

Students analyzed the ink from the ransom note using chromatography.

Finally, they chose their most likely suspect and took his fingerprints, to compare with the one left on the ransom note.
