High Level Clouds

Cirrus
Thin, wispy, and feathery clouds made of ice crystals, often indicating fair weather.
 
Cirrocumulus
Small, white, patchy clouds that form in sheets or ripples.
 
Cirrostratus
Thin, transparent, sheet-like clouds that can create a halo effect around the sun or moon.


Mid-level clouds

Altocumulus
Puffy or patchy clouds that often appear in rows or waves across the sky.
 
Altostratus
A bluish-gray layer covering the entire sky, often making the sun appear fuzzy.


Low-level clouds

Stratus
Featureless, gray clouds that can bring overcast conditions or light drizzle.
 
Cumulus
Puffy white clouds like cotton balls, indicating fair weather. Can grow into storm clouds.
 
Stratocumulus
Low, lumpy, and gray clouds that can form in rows or patches.


Vertical or multi-level clouds

Cumulonimbus
Large, towering thunderstorm clouds that can produce heavy rain, hail, and lightning. They have a dark base and can stretch from low to high altitudes.
 
Nimbostratus
Dark, gray, and featureless clouds that bring steady rain or snow.
