 
I was a teacher in Worsley for 40 years. Before that, I taught for four years in several high schools in metropolitan Toronto. I have a daughter Jesse who lives in Bon Accord with her husband Cole and daughter Gracie and son Jack. Jesse has an Education degree, specializing in Elementary Education. My other daughter Emily has recently graduated from the U of A with an Education degree, specializing in High School English, and has her first teaching job. Over the years I've taught everything from grade 1 PhysEd to grade 12 calculus, but I specialized in high school mathematics, physics and art. I also taught photography and computer skills, both to high school students and to adults in evening classes. I also was actively involved in remote teaching using a Smartboard and videoconferencing. I create web pages by coding in HTML using a program called Arachnophilia. My photography is done with a Canon EOS 7D, using a Canon 70-200mm f2.8 zoom lens. I also use a Nikon Coolpix P1000 which has a 3000mm zoom lens. You can find out more about these cameras and lenses here. Diagrams, artwork and photography are created or edited using Irfanview and Photoshop. There is a whole section of this site devoted to photography, including tips for taking better photos. Other sites I've created and managed, in addition to the Worsley School site and on-line Yearbook, included the Worsley Ski Hill and the Worsley Baptist Church. Since retiring I no longer manage those. My other interests include cartooning, drawing, and more recently painting in oils. You can see some of the paintings created by David Waits, the person who helped me learn how to paint, as well as a few of my own modest attempts at painting, here. I have been a Christian since 2010. Accepting Jesus as my Saviour was the best thing I ever did ... it made me a better father, husband and teacher, has given me confidence, and has changed my life in so many ways! I'm still a member of the Worsley Baptist Church. For me, God comes first in everything. For a few years I also maintained a blog about Christianity.
